Shared on Instagram by Curdle, the video sees Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday engaging in a dance battle with Bully Maguire, the colloquial name for Spider-Man 3‘s Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) while he was under the influence of the Venom symbiote. The fan edit seamlessly splices together footage of Ortega’s viral Wednesday dance with Bully Maguire’s jazz club moves, creating a mesmerizing experience for fans of the respective franchises. “Who will win?” Curdle captioned the video, which has already been viewed over 2.4 million times on the social media platform, while the fan edit itself features the text — “Finally a worthy opponent!”

Created by Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday is a live-action supernatural mystery series that was released in November 2023 on Netflix. The series follows the eponymous Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) as she attends Nevermore Academy while attempting to master her emerging psychic ability, stop a monstrous killing spree terrorizing the local town of Jericho and solve a 25-year-old mystery. Although Wednesday has only been available for a little over a month, the series has smashed viewing records to quickly become one of Netflix’s most-watched shows of all time.
Has Wednesday Been Renewed for a Season 2?
Although Netflix has not yet renewed Wednesday for a second season, reports have indicated that a renewal is now a mere formality and will likely come in early 2023. The first season of Wednesday ended with all of its plotlines wrapped up and with no hint of what was to come next, which Millar has stated was intentional. “Well, I think for us, it’s always about feeling that the season, because there’s only eight episodes, it feels like a book, so it feels complete and really satisfying. When you reach the end of a series, you wanna feel satisfied that the story is told,” he said, explaining why the Season 1 finale avoided leaving its main storylines unresolved. “It’s about tying up those loose ends, and then you want expectations and cliffhangers for questions for the next season but really wrapping this mystery up, so we can really begin with a whole new mystery next season.”

In addition to Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Wednesday stars Gwendoline Christie as Principal Larissa Weems, Riki Lindhome as Dr. Valerie Kinbott, Jamie McShane as Donovan Galpin, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, Naomi J.
