Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is close to its release; Jeff Loveness, the head writer of the third film revealed how Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of The Ring heavily inspired him with the plot and theme of the third sequel of the film. Throughout the interview, the name of the franchise was repeated, which hints to the audience about the theme of the third Ant-Man movie.

Jeff Loveness had heaping admiration for the film where he compliments the film for its layered plot as well as having multiple themes, calling the movie the “charm of old times.”

In a recent interview, Jeff Loveness, the writer for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania claimed he was heavily inspired by the 2001 hit film Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring where he stated that it was a perfect movie which had so many layers, and the layers unravel so quickly, hinting that Ant-Man 3 can go light-hearted to dark in a matter of seconds. Here’s what the writer said about the movie:

“I was watching ‘Fellowship Of The Ring’ the other day and was struck by how quickly the tone shifts from being light-hearted and comedic to intense apocalyptic stakes. Sometimes we like to peg movies down, so they can only be one thing. But that’s the charm of old adventure movies for me. And that was the joy of Marvel comics as a kid.”

While watching the first installment of the Lord of The Rings Trilogy, Jeff Loveness felt that movies are meant to have more than one theme if they are well-planned and executed. Jeff Loveness considers Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring a great movie that not tells the story of destroying a powerful ring, but also displays themes like friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, and the battle between good and evil. The film also explores a deeper meaning of how power can corrupt an individual, as well as how an individual can do good and bad deeds based on their choices.

The new faces include Jonathan playing the role of Kang the Conqueror, and Bill Murray will be joining the cast but the role has not been disclosed yet.
