Mo Salah shares photos as Liverpool’s squad enjoy a weekend break in Barcelona

Mo Salah has shared photos of the Liverpool squad enjoying a weekend break in Barcelona as Jurgen Klopp‘s side rested ahead of continuing their late push for the Champions League places.

Liverpool’s stars were granted time off following their 1-0 win against Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds have a rare eight-day break between the match and their next fixture against Leicester on Monday.

Salah shared photos of the trip following the squad’s return to training on Tuesday.

The Egyptian was seen posing alongside Rhys Williams, Jordan Henderson, Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz, Kostas Tsimikas, Fabinho and Adrian on an evening out in Barcelona.

Salah also shared a picture of him alongside Diaz, as the forwards rested up ahead of attempting to fire Liverpool back into the Champions League.

The trip to Barcelona came four years after Klopp’s side memorably beat the Catalans 4-0 in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final.

The famous comeback saw the Reds overturn a 3-0 first leg deficit, before going on to beat Tottenham 1-0 in the final.

The squad’s break came after a gruelling run of six matches in 20 days.

Liverpool earned six successive wins from the matches to boost their hopes of finishing in the top four.

Liverpool’s players would have been boosted by Newcastle and Manchester United suffering defeats during their break in Barcelona.

Newcastle were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal on Sunday, while Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat against West Ham.

The Reds remain three points behind Newcastle and two adrift of Man United, but have played a game more than both their rivals in the race for the Champions League.

Liverpool face away matches against relegation threatened Leicester and Southampton, either side of their final home game of the campaign with Aston Villa.

Newcastle will travel to Leeds on Saturday before hosting Brighton and Leicester in their pursuit of Champions League football.

The Magpies round off the season by facing Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Man United face Wolves and Bournemouth in their next two fixtures, with Erik ten Hag’s side hosting Chelsea and Fulham in their final matches.
