Why You Should Consider Buying The BMW i4 M50

Buckle up performance and luxury car lovers. We’re in for a wild ride with the BMW i4 M50.

If you want performance and luxury, you go to BMW. If you want all that doubled, you opt for the M badging. That’s the policy we have known for a while now, and a few could argue with it. BMW and its division M have made some stunning rides over the years, and the i4 M50 is “just” another in line.

The BMW i4 is an executive car in a coupe body style introduced in 2021. As an electrified ride, it made another fresh entrance into the EV game for the German car manufacturer — and it did its job well. Now available for purchase for the 2023 production year, the BMW i4 is a beautifully styled car with impressive specs, superior road manners, and outstanding comfort.

If we were to rank the BMW i4 for its class, we would easily put it on the top of the offer, regardless of the trim. The eDrive35, the eDrive40, and the M50 all offer the top-notch quality we would spend our savings on any day. But still, the BMW i4 M50 is the biggest treat of them all, and here’s why.

Those who wish for unmatched performance from their BMW i4 should go for the M50 without any doubt. With an all-electric motor on both axles capable of producing a stunning 536 horsepower and 586 lb-ft of torque, the BMW i4 M50 is simply the top offer in the line.

Just to give you a quick comparison — the i4 eDrive35 has an all-electric motor producing 281 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and the i4 eDrive40 the one putting out 335 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Great, right? But still not as exciting as the specs of the BMW i4 M50.

While the eDrive35 and the eDrive40 allow you to zoom between 0 and 60 mph in 5.8 and 5.6 seconds (which is solid), the BMW i4 M50 does so in a stunning 3.7 seconds. On top of that, the coupe comes with an all-wheel drive, has a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution, and provides a reduced center of gravity. All this improves acceleration and smooths out the ride for an unpaired experience on the road.

In terms of exterior styling, there’s no need to say too much. All BMW i4 variants come with an aggressive stance and bold looks. The M50 only makes things a little further with the available Shadowline Package that adds gloss black exterior accents to the car, the 19-inch or 20-inch M wheels, an M rear spoiler, and other niceties from this very special division.

The bold styling from the outside translates to the interior too — and that for all BMW i4 trims. The cabin is rich with screens and features, the seats offer top-notch comfy materials, and the latest BMW infotainment system provides plenty of services for entertainment and safety.

Like its siblings, the BMW i4 M50 comes with premium upholstery and tech. Its massive display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel expands on almost the whole dashboard. Here, drivers can operate Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi, an advanced audio system, wireless connectivity, and whatnot.

Alongside the BMW ConnectedDrive Services, the manufacturer allows customers to opt for additional packages, such as the Connected Package Professional, to enhance their rides. This particular package offers real-time traffic information, on-street parking info, remote services, stolen vehicle recovery, and similar.

Of course, the BMW i4 also offers an extensive package of safety and driver-assistance features to complete the offer.

The BMW i4 M50 leaves little to be desired. With dual electric motors offering such impressive power and performance, the exterior being so bold and unique, and the interior providing luxury and tech support all at once, you get everything blended nicely together with the BMW i4 M50.

But of course, all these niceties come at a price, so the 2023 BMW i4 M50 starts at $67,300. Add to your ride another color different from standard white, advanced upholstery, the Shadowline Package, more driver-assistance features, or any other extra really, and you’ll get to the $75,000 quickly and effortlessly.

So, the part with the pricing is good to keep in mind, but to be honest, the value the BMW i4 M50 provides is difficult to dispute. Anyone who has this amount of money to spend on their new performance car should definitely consider this gorgeous M car.
